Ivo began his motorcycling career in 2004 at the age of 8 years old, with the sole ambition of becoming World Champion.
Despite his young age, he gets from the beginning very satisfactory results, reaching, then, to be crowned champion of his class.
During the first year of real competitions, in 2005, Ivo ranks the 9th place overall inside the Metrakit Portuguese MiniGP Championship 70cc, very good result if you think that is his first championship, and that Ivo has participated at only 4 of 7 races planned.
The following year, in 2006, he always classify 5th in the Portuguese Championship Metrakit MiniGP 70cc.
2007 is the year of confirmation! Ivo finishes first in both Portuguese and Spanish Metrakit Championship MiniGP 70cc, and we win both titles.
Also in 2008 takes part at two Metrakit Championship PreGP 80 cc, at the Mediterranean in Spain, finishing 2nd and Portuguese 85cc, which finishes in 3rd place, despite having participated in 5 of 6 races in the calendar.
2009 is the year of the transition for the bike with "high wheel" Metrakit PreGP 125, with good results from early tests.
