Matteo starts at only 5 years to use pocket bike and he obtains excellent results during the first carriers.

In 2000 the debut occurs with "true" motorcycle, and he participates in the Italian GP 125 class with motorcycle Aprilia 125 inside Team Campetella. After the national championship is ranked 11^th place.

In 2001 Matteo disputes three races of the European and Italian Championship 125 GP with Aprilia 125 with team Dex.

In 2002, he passed on 4 stroke and debuted in the European championship category Supersport (600 cc.), riding Yamaha R6 for the Team Parimotor. The debut in the European championship Supersport will show positive results and was awarded with prestigious results, such as obtained in the fifth race in Most, Czech Republic.

In 2003, only 19 years old, he arrives to the final consecration in the Supersport class. Indeed, through his experience the year before and under an excellent and consistent performance, which allows him to go to points on each circuit, and to achieve 7 podiums over 8 races, "Baiox" conquests the European title Supersport 2003.

In 2004, like Continental Champion, he switched to the World Supersport Championship with Yamaha R6 managed by Team Lorenzini by Leoni. At the end of his first world season, that sees some some good races, Matteo ranks 17 th place.

After a good debut season in the Supersport category, in 2005, Matteo again takes part in the Supersport World Championship, this time riding a Kawasaki ZX 6RR managed by the Team Lightspeed. The season, despite the efforts of the rider, proves stingy results, also for a serious accident to the rider during the winter tests.

In 2006, Matteo made his debut in the World Cup FIM Superstock 1000, the spectacular championship dedicated to young talents under 24, riding a Yamaha YZF R1 private team Umbria Bike. Baiox proves competitive results and seems to be one of the protagonists of the league, disputed with continuously increasing up till a podium on the last race took place at Magny Cours. He finishes the season with an excellent 5th place overall.

 In 2007 Matteo participates again at the World Cup FIM Superstock 1000, always riding a Yamaha YZF R1 with private team Umbria Bike. Baiox becomes the protagonist of a good start, good placings and 2 wins, that allow him to be leader of the provisional ranking for 6 races, until the last race in Magny Cours. Just in this last race, Matteo was unable to defend the primacy and ends the championship with an excellent 3rd position, then winning the bronze medal.

  In 2008 Matteo disputed his third season in the World Cup FIM Superstock 1000, this time riding the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR Team O Six. The season will be supported in particular by Kawasaki Motors Europe, from Kawasaki Italy and Marzocchi Suspensions Spa.

The 2009 is the year of the step in the World SBK Championship with Kawasaki ZX10R motorbike, but with the team PSG-1 from San Marino.
